Right now, in many areas of St. John's metro buyers are finding themselves competing with multiple offers for the home they'd like to buy.

If that's you, and you really want to avoid competing, here are some tips and opportunity areas:

(1) Know your non-negotiable needs and do not compromise
(2) Be flexible on the wants
(3) Choose a home that isn't 'move-in-ready'
(4) Look for old, stale listings

"Non-negotiable needs" could include:
- Location/school zone
- Garage
- 3 Bedrooms upstairs
- A registered apartment

At the end of the day, pretty much EVERYONE wants a "move-in-ready home, except I'm ok with painting and maybe a small odd job". The further away you go from that (which I know requires skills, abilities, and financing you may not have) the less likely you are to have as many people interested in the home.

There is A LOT more to say about this (including renovation financing options), so if you're interested, let's chat!
